I leave for India in four days. I have never been so nervous to go somewhere in my entire life. All I hear is horrible horrible things. Its going to be over a hundred degrees. SMELLY. really really smelly. I hear people vomit from the smell. I also hear people vomit from the food- oh and the water. I bet I vomit. Oh well, I will trade one snake charmer for ten vomits any day.
I better see a snake charmer.
I know I haven't blogged in a while. My apologies for all who check my blog nine times a day like my mother says-If you really do exist... But I have been super busy. I dont think that I have mentioned this in any of my posts but I have been working as a photographer at a club downtown on Friday nights for the past couple of months. Its called Club Nuovo, and its the biggest club for hip-hop and house music in the Middle East. Pics of it down above. I could say that i have been doing it for the money but that would be a complete lie. The job is awesome, I would do it for free if they wanted me to. Basically, I just bring my camera to the bar with me on Friday, get in for free, get free drinks until the club starts to fill up, then start taking pictures at around two or three. (club opens at 12 and closes at 4) I usually get around 100 to 200 shots, then put my camera back in the office and continue to have a good time. It really is a great job. Ive met so many people because of it and get to have a free night of partying, while also being able to do what i love, all for a few euro. In fact, that few euro pays for another whole night of partying at Saturdays bar, so really its like two free nights of partying. Plus its the same place that all my friends go to on Friday nights. Probably because I can get them free drinks.
Just have to be careful with how much i drink before the camera comes out-pictures tend to come out a bit blurry...
Just kidding!!
I went to Greece and Italy last week. It was awesome. I know I may over use that word, but everything here really is awesome! Plus its the ultimate word. Awesome is awesome. We went to Athens first, saw the Parthenon and such. Went to some cool bars. We were really only there for two nights tho. Then after that we went to Rome. Rome was not so awesome. i wish it would have been awesome. Probably would have been awesome if it hadnt been pouring the whole time. We had a three hour walking tour of the city, during which we all got soaked. The idea of an umbrella had become useless. The wind was too powerful. In fact, even the Gypsies began to realize that their was really no use for their main money makers anymore, and decided to finally give it a rest.
That was bad. I'm actually still sick because of it. However, it was most likely the ice bar that we me some of my Quinni friends at that really did me over. Trudging through the rain only to get to an ice bar-seemed like fun at the time. No, it was fun at the time. Thank god for open bar. Everything was made of ice. Bar, tables, chairs, cups, floor, ceiling, everything. It was crazy. Awesome even. When you paid the entrance fee you got a pair of gloves and a space blanket to keep warm, and were warned to drink our drinks fast or else your cup would melt and you would be left with nothing.
Saw lots of my friends in Rome, it was really nice. Also saw a lot of my friends in Florence. Florence was the definition of Awesome. The apex of awesomeness. Should have studied there. By far the coolest city i have ever been to. My friends showed me all there was to see. countless bars, clubs and restaurants. One bar had a shot for every school. Quinnipiac even had a shot. It was horrible, but i wouldn't feel right if i didn't take it. I just felt bad that Chelsea also felt that way-Tequila, Rum, Tabasco. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!
Venice was pretty cool too. Canals and such. We were only there for a day though. Then back to Florence for another night, then home the next day.
This last weekend was pretty fun though. Maybe the best weekend ive had so far. The weather finally started to get nice and my friend Sam came to visit me from Barcelona. Took her to a few nice nice places, had an adventure over to the turkish side, lots of food, and took her to Nuovo on friday. However the best part of the week was a trip that me, my manager and a few of the bar tenders from the club organized to one of the beach resorts in the south called Ayia Napa. The club sponsored it, supplying tons of money for the festivities, and we even had redbull as a sponsor too. They sent 3 redbull girls and an unlimited supply of drinkage. For a 55 euro ticket, you would get entry to Nuovo Friday night, bus transportation both ways (Saturday-Sunday night), a nights stay at a hotel, with dinner and breakfast included, free entry to a bar called Aruba, and a Club called black and white, and free drinks on the beach till the sun came up. It truly was a great weekend. Sam had so much fun, and i loved making it happen.
But the real kicker to the weekend was not taking the bus to Aiya Napa, but instead, taking Sam in our pearl white cayenne limo with my friend Amir, a bar tender at the club, my roommate, and other three girls for one of their birthdays.
This blog is long. Hopefully you all had the time to read it. Especially because it took me forever to write, but most importantly, I hope you enjoy it
Tune in next time.
